FAITH CONNECT

God is everywhere & so is Faith Formation at Prince of Peace

  • Sundays after Worship: all ages and stages are welcome to explore our faith together through Bible Stories, STEM activities, Artistic expression, Music, Games/Movement, Service to others & Connections that build our community

  • PoP @ Play meets throughout the community (weather permitting) at parks & playgrounds offering a Bible story, playtime, prayer time and a chance to connect

  • Busy with sports? Out of town? Request a FaithBox- fast, fun, faith-filled activities for the whole family

  • Weekly Faith Connect emails share ideas for Faith Formation, Christian Parenting & Upcoming Opportunities

JAM CLUB

  • After school club for 3rd & 4th graders.

  • Meets at home plate on the elementary school playground after school on selected Tuesdays.

  • 5th thru 7th graders serve as helpers.

ANNUAL TRADITIONS IN FAITH FORMATION

  • Together in Faith Lessons (3K+ throughout the year)

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

VBS is typically the first week in August (Monday-Thursday mornings) with programming for elementary aged children, a Biking VBS for those entering 5th & 6th grades as well as the opportunity for many of our youth and adults alike to serve in forming the faith of our community.

VEGGIE TALE MOVIE NIGHTS

Several times a year enjoy bringing your family come to enjoy dinner for a dollar and a Veggie Tale movie. Watch for the schedule.

SUGAR CREEK BIBLE CAMP

We believe that experiences at camp can shape faith for a lifetime and offer financial support in the form of "Camperships" to all Prince of Peace campers. Summer camp opportunities include day camp options for those entering K-3rd grades, two night/three day camps for 2nd-3rd graders, weeklong options for 4th-12th grade, Family Camp as well as year-around retreats. Visit Sugar Creek Bible Camp to learn more and join us for our annual Sugar Creek Breakfast each March.

FLYING V MOMS GROUP

We believe that it is important to provide intentional spaces and times for parents to connect with one another, share stories, and support one another in vulnerability and grace. Moms of all ages are invited to join via email, group text message, Facebook messenger, zoom and in-person opportunities throughout the year.

YOUTH FORMATION

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS SLEEPOVER

Open to 6th – 8th graders the night includes discussions on the challenges and gifts of being in middle school, lots of “girl” stuff, fun and food.

CONFIRMATION

Wednesday evening classes several times a month during the school year for 8th and 9th graders. Classes are led in a large group by the pastor, followed by small group sessions with an adult guide.

10th grade confirmation meets for meals Sunday evenings Sept.-Oct. Each week includes Peer Ministry Training. Also using a spiritual gift inventory, a personality sorter, a values exercise and a spiritual direction time with a pastor, young people discern what God wants them to do with their one, wild and precious life.

TRICK OR TREAT FOR FOOD

Halloween Night: Church youth groups come together to canvass the La Crescent area for donations for the La Crescent Food Shelf.

WORKCAMP

The single most effective tool we have in our ministry with young people. A life changing week spent serving people in need, with training prior to the trip and reflection writing after the trip.

SUGAR CREEK BIBLE CAMP

A week immersed with song, living outdoors, with something new to look forward to each year, from horses, to bike and canoes to riverboats.

PEER MINISTRY

Peer Ministry is an intentional way of training 10th – 12th graders who want to know what to do when their friends: have parents going through a separation or divorce; are struggling with an eating disorder; are misusing drugs or alcohol; have been hurt by a relationship.
