SUGAR CREEK BIBLE CAMP
We believe that experiences at camp can shape faith for a lifetime and offer financial support in the form of "Camperships" to all Prince of Peace campers. Summer camp opportunities include day camp options for those entering K-3rd grades, two night/three day camps for 2nd-3rd graders, weeklong options for 4th-12th grade, Family Camp as well as year-around retreats. Visit Sugar Creek Bible Camp to learn more and join us for our annual Sugar Creek Breakfast each March.
FLYING V MOMS GROUP
We believe that it is important to provide intentional spaces and times for parents to connect with one another, share stories, and support one another in vulnerability and grace. Moms of all ages are invited to join via email, group text message, Facebook messenger, zoom and in-person opportunities throughout the year.
MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS SLEEPOVER
Open to 6th – 8th graders the night includes discussions on the challenges and gifts of being in middle school, lots of “girl” stuff, fun and food.
Wednesday evening classes several times a month during the school year for 8th and 9th graders. Classes are led in a large group by the pastor, followed by small group sessions with an adult guide.
10th grade confirmation meets for meals Sunday evenings Sept.-Oct. Each week includes Peer Ministry Training. Also using a spiritual gift inventory, a personality sorter, a values exercise and a spiritual direction time with a pastor, young people discern what God wants them to do with their one, wild and precious life.
TRICK OR TREAT FOR FOOD
Halloween Night: Church youth groups come together to canvass the La Crescent area for donations for the La Crescent Food Shelf.
The single most effective tool we have in our ministry with young people. A life changing week spent serving people in need, with training prior to the trip and reflection writing after the trip.
SUGAR CREEK BIBLE CAMP
A week immersed with song, living outdoors, with something new to look forward to each year, from horses, to bike and canoes to riverboats.
Peer Ministry is an intentional way of training 10th – 12th graders who want to know what to do when their friends: have parents going through a separation or divorce; are struggling with an eating disorder; are misusing drugs or alcohol; have been hurt by a relationship.
